The New Mini Maker Faire Postcard

Hi Pi!

Hi Pi!

Calling all Raspberry Pi home project Makers and enthusiasts!  Raspberry Pi just turned five last month and there is a lot to celebrate.

Raspberry Pi fans already know what the little computer-that-could can do. Now, there is a new addition to the original line of Raspberry Pi computers. Named the Raspberry Pi Zero W, it includes wireless LAN and Bluetooth connectivity built in.  These features make the new tiny computer platform even better for connected Internet of Things projects.

Raspberry Pi Zero W

It’s Pi-week and the Raspberry Pi Zero W comes at the perfect time to create affordable, portable and connected computing projects.  The Omaha Maker Faire invites you to take your Raspberry Pi project from your workbench, Facebook or Instagram pages, and show, tell, and teach fellow DIY dreamers what you’ve accomplished. Register to be part of the Omaha Mini Maker Faire at this link. Registration has been extended until April 8 but don’t wait.

The Third Omaha Mini Maker Faire will be on Saturday, April 15 hosted at Omaha’s Do Space (7205 Dodge Street, Omaha). Do Space and Metro Community College, in partnership with Omaha Maker Group, are sponsoring the event this year. Doors open to the public at 9AM and the Faire runs until 4PM.

  • Knitting

Tell them the Omaha Maker Faire producers WANT THEM!  Get more information or apply to be a maker at www.omahamakerfaire.com.

Check Out Our 2017 Makers!

Our list of Makers coming to the 2017 Maker Faire is growing. See the up-to-date list of Makers under the Maker tab or click here for the Maker profiles.

Returning to the Faire this year is one of our favorite Makers, Allie Weber. Allie is now 11 years old, and this will be her THIRD! Maker Faire. Each year, Allie’s accomplishments grow and show Making is a frame of mind rather than an adult thing.

Allie will be showing some of her latest inventions including her Frost Stopper- Frost Bite warning system, the Got Your Back Binder Strap and maybe a peek at her secret project to make long hospital stays more fun for kids and teens.  Catch up with Allie at her YouTube channel, Tech-nic-Allie Speaking.

We are still looking for passionate and creative individuals making great inventions, projects and stuff, to show, tell and teach visitors. If you have a hobby or like making creations in the areas of technology, art, craft, or things for yourself, register to be part of the Omaha Mini Maker Faire at the link. Registration has been extended until April 8 but don’t wait.
